Abillo announces the Abillo Open Source Project

New York, (May 12, 2009) – Abillo announced today the official launch of the Open Source Abillo Project. The project aims to become a high profile and high quality project that supports community usage, community involvement and is determined to set new Open Source Standards for professional Open Source development and services. These standards will be a driving force for Open Source adoption in medium sized businesses, governmental environments and enterprise level corporations.

The Abillo project is started from scratch using the latest technologies and standards by seasoned Open Source professionals. The Abillo team, based on their nearly 20 years of open source experience, decided to begin a whole new project to do things differently and better than what the current Open Source Standards offer. The Abillo Team consists of leaders from the well known Joomla! Content Management Project. Ranging from being one of the original founders, project leads to development and community managers. This team has all the skills, knowledge and drive to push barriers and a new project into the market.

"The Joomla! project will always be one of our babies but we need to put all our effort in building the new company. We have a very clear focus and vision and this goes beyond any Open Source Project we see in the market today." Wilco Jansen, founder and CEO of Abillo said.

The Abillo Software Stack, named The Abillo Experience, is currently under steady development and more details about the project vision, goals and solutions will be revealed in later stages.
